There are many places where you can buy Murano Glass chandeliers online. We have compiled our very own list of selected vendors. Either because they have been in the market for a long time, because they are a true expert or because they offer a wide range of products. Our intention is to give you, the buyer, the power to make an informed decision.
Please note our selection is based on distributors that carry the Murano seal of authenticity, issued by Promovetro. Feel free to give us a hint if you feel we are missing someone.
Without further ado, this is our list of Murano glass chandelier sellers:
MuranoDirect: A vast selection and simple and useful selection tools based in number of lights and price. We noticed it explicitly shows they hold the Promovetro seal of authenticity. This is possible because Giuliano 😉 (the owner) is a close friend with the Murano artisans. We appreciate the fact that someone took the liberty to show his face. We also liked the product comparison feature. Prices are very competitive and the amount of styles is outstanding.
1stdibs.com: Although they only carry one type of Murano chandelier. The reputable design house has so much products too choose from, it was hard to not count them in this list. We didn’t find the Promovetro seal, but they state their chandeliers are made in Italy. Only one type of chandelier at $2,940 + shipping.
OriginalMuranoGlass.com: This company has been distributing Murano imports for some time. They do offer a wide selection of chandelier styles. From the Traditional and Venetian, to more contemporary ones. We didn’t find the Promovetro seal. Their browsing feature wasn’t very friendly, but they do have nice designs. Also, we did not immediately find the product prices.
MuranoGlassChandeliers.com: This site offers a vast number of styles, colors and prices. their selection is based on size (S/M/L) and style (traditional, contemporary, rezzonico). In general we liked the experience, although we would like a more human touch.
Venice Arte: They offer a lot but we think it was too difficult to find what we were looking for. Their prices are only in euros. And the site looks a bit outdated. Most chandeliers didn’t include a picture. Browsing was just too complicated.
Murano Glass Shop: In general this site has a vast selection of styles. We think their Virtual Designer tool has potential, but we actually didn’t tried it. They also have a nice magazine-like flipping application, but we don’t appreciate the fact that the visuals weren’t too good.
Sogni Di Cristallo, Interior Deluxe and Italian Lightning Center: These three sites gave us the same impression, thus we include them in one paragraph. The three sites look a bit outdated and similar. They really offer the same products. We didn’t spend too much time here.
That was it for now. We did found many more dealers but we think the certificate of authenticity is an exceptional thing that should be made explicit from the homepage.
As you may have guessed, our verdict goes to either “Murano Glass Chandeliers” or “Murano Direct”. Surprise, right? But, we really think it’s an important exercise. You be the final judge.
